PRESS RELEASE – QUAY COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE – April 18, 2012

A voter registration drive is being conducted by the Quay County Clerk’s Office and will continue through Tuesday May 8, 2012, the day registration books close for the Primary Election.

The drive is being conducted to register persons who are not currently registered and to encourage existing voters to update their voter registration with current information. Persons who have moved and never changed their voter registration to the current address should do so at this time.

Anyone who will be 18 years of age before the Primary Election, June 5, 2012, is eligible to register and vote.

As a reminder, New Mexico requires you to be registered with a major political party to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election.  If you chose no party or a minor party when you registered to vote, you will not be able to participate in the Primary Election unless you make that change official with the County Clerk before the May 8, 2012 deadline.
